Trying to gather too much information and trying to test too many things can be problematic for a lot of companies rather than just doing what it is that they do best. Mario tells many people who he has worked with to not feel like they are something special. Many people feel as though no one else has thought of the same things they have so they feel the need to rush into the market without having done their research. After doing research, when it comes to simplifying your business, the next step is keeping it all in a straight line. Keeping your focus small and diving into the section of the market you want to focus on is important so you aren’t spreading yourself too thin. Ken asks an important question to finish out asking, “If you were talking to a company that’s floundering or their growth is flat in the IoT, what’s the piece of advice you would give to help them move ahead?” Mario responds by saying that flat isn’t necessarily bad. Flat, besides the negative connotation, also screams one thing and that is stability. Bringing in a consultant or bringing in people outside to help in unstable or flat situations is one of the most helpful things a company can do when in a stagnant situation. Seeing things from other angles can really open your eyes and get you jump started on moving forward. And putting yourself in a position for constructive criticism and change can really boost your chances of turning things around or continuing in a positive direction.
