Momenta Partners is pleased to announce that we have successfully placed two industry leading Senior Vice Presidents for Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. Guido Schroeder has been appointed as SVP of Engineering and Sanjay Chikarmane as SVP of Product Management for IoT & Analytics.

SVP of Engineering
Guido will lead all engineering teams for Hitachi Vantara with a focus on accelerating the integration and transformation of engineering capabilities to enable the rapid productization of innovations across Hitachi.
Guido brings a wide range of extremely relevant experiences to Hitachi from high-growth startups such as Splunk to established enterprise software giants like SAP. Most recently, Guido served as the Chief Product Officer for [24]7 Inc., a startup focused on AI based virtual agent and chat products to automate and enhance customer support.
Prior to [24]7 Inc., Guido led Product Management and Engineering for Splunk as their SVP of Products. Guido joined Splunk pre-IPO where he expanded the portfolio from a single product to an integrated portfolio of products including priced solutions for Hadoop, Enterprise Security, IT Services Intelligence, Splunk Light, and Splunk Cloud, while also helping to establish Splunk as a leading platform for machine data and analytics. Guido also dramatically scaled the engineering and products team and expanded to a multi-site/multi-shore location strategy while concurrently driving the development process from a slow 1+ year clock speed to a modern continuous cloud delivery cadence.
Splunk grew quickly via acquisition, and Guido led the product and engineering integration of four acquisitions.
Guido holds a Master of Science and PhD. in Physics from the University of Keil.
Sanjay Chikarmane,
SVP of Product Management for IoT & Analytics
Sanjay will lead product management for Hitachi Vantara’s Applications and Insight product lines. These product lines include Pentaho, Lumada, and their emerging application portfolio: Maintenance Insights and Manufacturing Insights.
Sanjay brings over 25 years of enterprise software experience to Hitachi. Most recently, Sanjay served as the SVP & GM of the Enterprise Informatics business unit at Illumina, a global leader in genomics, where he developed and launched a software platform called BaseSpace, which enables DNA sequencing to be software-defined, “touchless” and smart. This dramatically lowered customer adoption barriers and enabled BaseSpace to grow at a 75% CAGR to $2.7B FY17 revenues by analyzing 14PB of data/year from 5,000+ connected machines and serving ~72,000 users.
Sanjay spent nine years at SAP where he served as the SVP & Product GM for their Technology Solutions group. His role included global product management and GTM leadership for a $570 million business portfolio consisting of the BusinessObjects Enterprise Integration Management and NetWeaver Business Process Management, Data Integration/Quality, MDM and Middleware product lines.
Sanjay led predictive analytics solutions on the SAP HANA in-memory data platform focused on SAP strategic industries, including energy, industrial machinery, transportation, oil & gas, retail, healthcare, telco, semiconductor and financial services, generating $320M in revenue. Sanjay also incubated and launched the SAP Financial Services Network (FSN), a new SaaS platform on the HANA Cloud to digitize bank to corporate A/P, treasury, and credit card interactions.
Prior to SAP, Sanjay served in product leadership roles at BEA Systems where he had P&L responsibility for their WebLogic and AquaLogic integration products and at Hewlett-Packard where he led engineering teams on HP’s DCE and Encina distributed computing products.
Sanjay holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University.
