Leading the Way in Innovation: Dr. Matteo Genna Joins Fleet Space Technologies as Chief Technology Office

Momenta's Executive Search team congratulates Dr. Matteo Genna on his appointment as the Chief Technology Officer at Fleet Space Technologies, a trailblazing nanosatellite and communications innovator based in Australia.

Matteo has been building space and near-space systems for almost 30 years. After gaining his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, he joined Palo Alto-based SSL (now part of Maxar), where he led teams designing and building high-power GEO communication satellites, LEO imaging satellites, and interplanetary spacecraft and systems. Prior to joining Fleet, he headed the Remote Sensing business unit at World View Enterprises, building High Altitude Platforms Systems (HAPS) designed to image and measure the Earth from the stratosphere.

Matteo's three decades of technical and commercial experience in satellite systems and his lifelong passion building space systems that positively impact our lives on Earth will be crucial to Fleet's long-term growth strategy for its revolutionary ExoSphere product, which is already operational with over 30 customers worldwide. With a remarkable achievement of $50 million raised in a highly successful C Series funding round, Fleet is well positioned for its next growth phase, concentrating on expanding its footprint in the North American market. Already making strides in nickel exploration projects across Michigan, Minnesota, and Ontario, ExoSphere's innovative product showcases the company's prowess.

To strengthen its presence in North America, Fleet has selected Tucson, AZ, as the hub for Dr. Matteo Genna, their newly appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This strategic addition perfectly complements Fleet's existing operations, centered around their headquarters in Houston, TX. Furthermore, this marks a significant milestone as Fleet establishes its first international office outside Australia, further solidifying their global presence.
