With great pleasure, we announce the addition of Philipp Bolliger as our newest Venture Partner at Momenta, the leading venture capital + growth firm focused on Digital Industry.
Philipp is an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and technologist with 15+ years of experience in Digital Industry. He has served as CEO of two start-up companies with corporate exits, both Momenta portfolio companies.
Philipp most recently served as Vice President Digital for dormakaba, a company offering a wide range of high-quality products, solutions, and services for secure access to buildings and rooms from a single source. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of CP Pumpen, an independent Swiss pump manufacturer that began as a tiny plant in 1948 and has grown to be a globally active firm.
Prior Philipp served as CEO of Thingstream, a firm that provides industrial and consumer enterprises worldwide with Internet of Things Communications-as-a-Service. Placed by Momenta as part of a spin-out engagement, he joined Thingstream at a pivotal point in its development and guided the company through its acquisition by u-blox AG, a global provider of advanced positioning and wireless communication solutions for the automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.
Philipp started his entrepreneurial journey as the Co-Founder and CEO of Koubachi, an ETH Zurich spin-off that brought the Internet of Things to the home and garden to improve and simplify plant care. The company was sold to Husqvarna Group in 2015.

Philipp will join Momenta’s team in Europe as well as supporting our activities in the U.S. "He will play a critical role in Momenta's rapidly expanding European division," commented Michael Dolbec, Managing Partner, Momenta. "leveraging his deep skills in starting and scaling a company from early foundation through exit to post-acquisition integration."
Philipp is based in Zurich, Switzerland, where he resides with his wife, also a successful entrepreneur, and their newborn daughter. He holds a Ph.D. in Distributed Systems and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, both from ETH Zurich. His academic focus was ubiquitous computing and indoor positioning including research time at the Palo Alto Research Center (PARC).
