Written by Ken Forster | April 7, 2021

Bringing vision to the manufacturing Industry

In this week’s podcast, Ken Forster interviews Scott Everett, CEO and Co founder of Eigen Innovations.

Scott has dedicated his career to solving complex engineering and quality control problems in manufacturing. He co-founded Eigen Innovations in 2012 to bring state-of-the-art vision technology to the factory floor, specializing in advanced industrial vision and machine learning. Based in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, Scott spends his time working with the product development team to evolve Eigen’s AI-enabled solutions as well as pitching the solution to Tier 1 manufacturers around the globe. He’s also in the process of completing his PhD studies in Mechanical Engineering.

Some of the discussion points during this interview were:

  • At Eigen Innovations, what problem were you trying to solve and for whom?
  • Why do you think it has taken so long for vision systems to take off?
  • What do you see as the impact of COVID 19 on the Factory Floor?
  • What do you see for the next 5 years in digital manufacturing?
  • What makes Canada a great place for startups?
  • Given your success, what advice would you offer to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Scott recommendations:
  • The show Chefs Table on Netflix - You get to hear the stories of people, and it’s the grit factor that's inspiring.
